Dedicated Server Reviews - Getting Cheapest & Affordable Dedicated Server Hosting

The Basics: Dedicated Server Commands

Renting and setting up a internet hosting service is easy but actually managing and planning how web site traffic would be processed is quite difficult most especially if you’re just learning about it. So I have provided you with the basic controls you would need in managing and planning your internet hosting service but I would only be focusing on the internet hosting service which is the dedicated server.

Dedicated server as you already know is a single yet powerful computer used as one company or web site’s network server which is powerful enough to work and maintain the needs of your network. It is used for exclusively one computer and the services provided by a dedicated server is only available to one account and one domain name which you as the person renting the internet hosting server has.

Launching the Server: Code

First of enter the following code into the “..Prey Demo\base” folder: prey.exe +set net_serverdedicated 1 +set net_port “27666” +exec yourserver.cfg (Place the name of your server here). The following codes I would be giving are out simply sample codes from a dedicated game server. The codes for your dedicated server would vary but are quite the same in format to produce the same results. Here are some codes:
seta net_master0 “preymaster.humanhead.com:27655
seta si_maxPlayers “4”
seta net_allowCheats “0”
seta ner_LANServer “0”
seta net_serverRemoteConsolePassword “yourpassword”
seta si_spectators “0”
seta si_usePass “0”
seta si_warmup “1”
seta si_teamDamagae “1”
seta si_timeLimit “15”
seta si_fragLimit “20”
seta si_map “game/ dmescher.map”
seta si_gameType “deathmatch”
seta si_name “yourhostname”
spawnserver
And there you have it a sample of server codes you would put into a dedicated server but take note that the codes listed above are simply sample codes used in a dedicated game server. Your internet hosting service or web host provider from which you have rented a web server will be providing you with a list of server commands.

Other Sample Codes
Aside from the sample codes written above which you could use as reference, here are some other important codes used in a dedicated game server which may be quite the same in a dedicated server. This would only serve as your reference and not exactly server commands used in a dedicated server.

Some of the codes I mentioned above can be used for a dedicated server and if you did go through them you would easily know which codes I was referring to. So when it comes to planning and managing the traffic in your website of course you would need to know the basics in server commands and hopefully the examples I mentioned here for dedicated server commands were able to help you out.
